Who We Are
NY Tech Week Companion is a small event-planning tool created by Lukasz Bulik and BrightDot to help attendees browse, shortlist, and plan around NY Tech Week events.
Information You Provide
If you register, we may store the profile details you submit, such as your email address, name, company, role, objective, and saved event shortlist. Guest shortlists are stored locally in your browser until you register.
Google Calendar Data
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, we request read-only calendar event access so the app can identify Tech Week confirmations, match accepted RSVPs to events in our catalog, help build your itinerary, and surface event details that are relevant to your saved events, including hidden or private event address details when those details appear in your calendar confirmations.
We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising. We do not sell Google user data. We do not allow humans to read your Google Calendar data unless you ask for support, it is necessary for security or abuse investigation, or we are required to comply with law.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How We Use Information
- Save and sync your event shortlist across sessions.
- Generate curated event recommendations and itinerary options.
- Match calendar confirmations to Tech Week events after you connect calendar access.
- Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and maintain the event catalog.
Storage And Security
Registered profile and shortlist data is stored in our application database. When calendar connection is enabled, OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest. Access is limited to the application systems needed to provide the service.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may use service providers for hosting, database, authentication, analytics, or email delivery. These providers process data only to help us operate the service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the service from abuse.
Your Choices
- You can use the app in guest mode without registering.
- You can disconnect Google Calendar access from your Google Account permissions page.
- You can request deletion of registered profile, shortlist, and connected calendar data.
